The languages used in his songs are Yoruba and English however he also uses what is known as pidgin english. For those of you who are not familar with it it may sound like another language entirely, here is an explanation taken from wikepedia. "A pidgin is a simplified language that develops as a means of communication between two or more groups who do not share a common language, in situations such as trade. Pidgin language is one of the easiest languages used. Pidgins are not the native language of any speech community, but are instead learned as second languages. Pidgins usually have low prestige with respect to other languages." Example "I go talk small" meaning "I will talk for a short while". Further info click here
Nigerian Pidgin is the native language of approximately 3 to 5 million people and is a second language for at least another 75 million. Nigerian Pidgin is also spoken across West Africa, in countries such as Ghana, and Cameroon.
Definitions of the different types of Genres
If you were searching for my music to purchase or to listen free, it may be under the following genres Gospel, Christian, World , New Age and Religion. You are probably wondering why those genres, well, this portion of the website attempts to shed some light to those descriptions. Religion and Christian are words often used as major or sub headings for Gospel or at times instead of Gospel, an in depth understanding of Gospel music can be found on the gospel page, an explanation of New Age and World can be found below. If my music was given its correct genre it would be Yoruba gospel music.
New Age
Some consider New Age music to be a branch of electronic music, others consider New Age music to be defined more by the feeling it produces rather than the devices used in its creation. This is a subtle distinction, but needs to be mentioned since while much of the equipment used to produce New Age music is electronic, or computer-based, much New Age music is also produced using purely acoustic instruments.
Before the dawn of the 20th century, a western movement--loosely referred to as New Age--emerged with the idea that modern civilization was entering an age of intellectual and spiritual enlightenment. Based somewhat on eastern philosophies and a sense of optimism, its cultural impact has been slim yet steady. In 1967 the musical Hair introduced many to "the dawning of the age of Aquarius," and suddenly the concept of positivity, mysticism, and idealism seemed more palatable. New Age music emerged a bit later in the wake of groundbreaking works such as Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells and Brian Eno’s Ambient 1: Music for Airports. New Age is a broad term, but it consists mainly of gentle arrangements that blend into soothing ambient textures. It can be keyboard-driven and electronic-based, or acoustic and organic in origin. Just don't forget to light a candle as you listen.
Partly due to some artists' open affiliation with various New Age beliefs, other artists and bands have specifically stated that they do not consider their own music to be New Age - although their work may be labelled that way by record companies, music retailers, or radio broadcasters. At times this is the only category they can think of to put that particular sound of music.
There is a significant overlap of sectors of New Age music, ambient music, electronica, world music, chillout and others. There are various ways of describing what New Age music is and which artists should be classified as New Age artists.

World
The music of planet Earth is as diverse as the globe is large. While western pop music is ubiquitous, making headlines and dominating airwaves, listening to and exploring the music of the world's many cultures allows further opportunities for universal communication. Lyrics regarding religion, rebellion, and romance are sung in any number of languages, and even while we may not always understand the words, the sentiments do get through. Western music was once mistakenly considered the pinnacle of the sonic arts. Today, however, musicians, musicologists, and listeners alike have learned that music from everywhere in the world has much to teach us--whether it's the intricacies of African polyrhythms, the microtones of Indonesian Gamelan, or the melodic complexity of Indian ragas.
Broadly speaking, world music is music of the world's cultures. In the 1980s the term was adopted to characterize non-English recordings that were released in Great Britain and the United States. Employed primarily by the media and record stores, this controversial category amalgamated the music of such diverse sources as Tuvan throat singers, Zimbabwean guitar bands, and Pakistani qawwali (Sufi-music) singers, as well as non-mainstream Western folk musicians such as Cajun fiddlers and Hawaiian slack-key guitarists. Previously, international music had limited currency as a catchall term that ranged from tourist souvenir records to field recordings made by ethnomusicologists in Africa, Asia, and elsewhere. Although purists argued that no musical style could be identified as “world music,” the term was coined to bring “foreign” music closer to the mainstream of Western popular music. In many ways the history of world music is the story of the marketing of foreign music by Western record companies. Despite these commercial origins, by the early 1990s the term had precipitated a change in the consciousness of musicians and producers, and world music had become a bona fide musical genre.
